Background colors and images will not print in Word 2007 It is so annoying when you have worked really hard on a document, but when you go to print it, the background does not print. For example if you press on print preview you will immediately see your background images or colors missing from the document. However there is no need to panic, because there is a simple solution for this. How to make the backgrounds and colors show up when printing a document? When you have Word 2007 open, press on the Office symbol in the top left corner. A menu will appear. Press on the Word Options button at the bottom. See the screenshot below. The Word Options dialog box will appear. Press on the Display section in the left side bar. Now you will see the options for display. Under the printing options menu put a tick in the box next to Print background colors and images. Press OK. Well its not a trick, I am just using auto-correct in Microsoft Word to my advantage. I am going to show you how to make Word translate your text abbreviations you use into finished words. Yes, Word is going to finish or complete the words that I am going to write. Why would I want to write a word like abbreviations when I can simply put abb and then press the space bar. Add shortcut icons to your Quick Access toolbar in Microsoft Word 2007 In Microsoft word 2007 there is a quick access toolbar at the top of the screen next to this   symbol. See in the screenshot below. I have circled the quick access toolbar. By default the quick access toolbar has a save shortcut icon, an undo, and a redo icon. However you can add or remove shortcut icons from the quick access toolbar by choosing to customize it.  How to add shortcut icons to the quick access toolbar? As shown in the screenshot below, click on the  dropdown arrow  to choose what icons to add to the quick access toolbar. If you want to add a shortcut icon it must have  a tick next to it.
